Systems Engineer | Adelaide CBD, SA

Join a dynamic Government Agency in Adelaide CBD as a Systems Engineer for a 12-month opportunity, working on high-impact infrastructure projects across the state.

YOU | Bring your experience in Systems Engineering and your passion for improving infrastructure outcomes to a collaborative and forward-thinking Engineering team. You will also bring:

• Demonstrated experience in applying systems engineering principles to complex infrastructure or utility projects.
• A strong understanding of systems integration, requirements management and lifecycle engineering.
• Proven ability to identify inefficiencies and drive process improvements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a collaborative approach to delivery.
• A degree in Systems Engineering or a related field.
• Familiarity with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and digital engineering tools - desirable.
• Project management experience or certification - desirable.

THE ROLE | Act as a key technical lead supporting the introduction of systems engineering practices to drive efficiency and innovation across water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You will provide expert input into requirement analysis, system architecture development, and the integration of best practice methodologies.

• Apply structured systems engineering methods to improve project design, integration and delivery across the asset lifecycle.
• Engage with multi-disciplinary teams to embed systems thinking and support the adoption of new engineering practices.
• Utilise analytics and modelling tools to optimise asset performance and inform design decisions.
• Regularly report on progress and costs, supporting robust change management and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to a knowledge-sharing culture and support strong cross-functional collaboration across the organisation.
