Senior Hydraulic Engineer | Adelaide CBD, SA

Join a dynamic Government Agency in Adelaide CBD as a Senior Hydraulic Engineer for a 12-month opportunity, working on critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects that support communities across South Australia.

YOU | Bring your strong hydraulic design expertise and deep understanding of the water sector to a collaborative and technically driven Engineering team. You will also bring:
• Proven experience in hydraulic design within the water industry
• High proficiency with WaterGEMS
• Demonstrated experience across both water and wastewater treatment systems.
• Strong understanding of design criteria for:
– Wastewater treatment plants
– Pipelines and associated wastewater equipment
• Sound knowledge of material selection differences, including pump systems used in water versus wastewater applications.
• Ability to apply hydraulic principles to complex infrastructure and utility projects.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a collaborative approach to delivery.
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) with Engineers Australia.
• Mechanical design experience is transferable; however, hydraulic experience in the water sector is essential.

THE ROLE | Act as a senior technical specialist providing hydraulic expertise across the planning, design and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Lead and deliver hydraulic designs for water and wastewater treatment assets and pipeline systems.
• Apply industry best practice design criteria to ensure safe, efficient and compliant outcomes.
• Develop, review and validate hydraulic models using WaterGEMS to inform design decisions.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical and civil engineers.
• Provide technical advice on equipment selection, materials and system performance.
• Support project delivery through robust reporting, cost awareness and change management.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, knowledge sharing and technical excellence across the organisation.
