YOU | Bring your deep expertise in Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (EIC) engineering and your passion for safety, innovation and technical excellence to a collaborative, high-performing Engineering team. You will also bring:
• Tertiary qualification in Electrical, Instrumentation and/or Controls Engineering.
• Accredited Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng), or eligibility to obtain CPEng with Engineers Australia by 30 June 2026.
• Demonstrated capability to operate as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls disciplines.
• Extensive knowledge of EIC engineering procedures and practices within the water industry and/or large engineering organisations.
• Proven experience delivering complex and critical engineering investigations, options analysis, concept and detailed designs.
• Experience auditing designs prepared by others to ensure compliance with standards and best practice.
• Exposure to installation and commissioning of EIC infrastructure (highly regarded).
• Experience contributing to the development and ongoing review of technical and infrastructure standards.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with a collaborative and solutions-focused approach.
THE ROLE | Act as a senior technical specialist and experienced practitioner in Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls matters across the Corporation.
• Provide specialist investigation, design and technical auditing services to meet time and budget objectives.
• Lead Safety in Design (SiD) initiatives for the EIC discipline, ensuring health and safety risks are eliminated or minimised SFAIRP across the asset lifecycle.
• Drive a strong safety culture aligned with the Engineering Safety Framework and WHS responsibilities.
• Deliver technical leadership across electrical standards and infrastructure projects.
• Support and champion the review and continuous improvement of technical standards and guidelines.
• Conduct site audits to ensure compliance with corporate standards and regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with service providers, contractors and vendors to facilitate seamless design, construction and commissioning outcomes.
• Provide input into operational, maintenance and condition-based monitoring strategies.
• Contribute to innovation by identifying and assessing emerging technologies for adoption.
• Actively participate in discipline forums, knowledge sharing and cross-functional collaboration.
