Senior Project Officer (ASO6)

Our government client is currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Officer (ASO6) to support the delivery of a major Finance Reform Program (FRP), focused on implementing a new Oracle-based Financial Management System across South Australian Government agencies. This is a contract role through to 30 June 2026 based in Adelaide’s CBD.

YOU | Bring your strong project coordination skills, stakeholder engagement capability, and ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment to this exciting opportunity within a key South Australian Government program. You will support deployment activities and help drive successful outcomes across a complex transformation initiative. You will also bring:
• Proven experience supporting or delivering projects in complex environments – Essential
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders – Essential
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise, organise work, and manage competing demands – Essential
• Experience in project planning, scheduling, and reporting – Essential
• Ability to collect, analyse, and present information effectively – Essential
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) – Essential
• Experience applying project management methodologies – Essential
• Ability to work under pressure and contribute to process improvements – Essential
• Experience working on large-scale ICT or ERP implementations (e.g. Oracle) – Desirable
• Understanding of finance processes or organisational design – Desirable
• Experience using Jira or similar tools – Desirable

THE ROLE | As Senior Project Officer, you will support the Deployment Manager in coordinating the activities of Deployment Groups within the Finance Reform Program. You will play a key role in planning, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring timely delivery of project milestones. You’ll contribute to a major system transformation that will modernise financial processes across government. Key responsibilities include:
• Supporting planning, coordination, and stakeholder engagement across Deployment Groups
• Preparing workshop materials and developing deployment-related content
• Assisting in the development and maintenance of project schedules
• Monitoring progress against timelines and escalating risks or delays as required
• Coordinating status updates and reporting to internal teams and governance groups
• Managing project documentation in line with State Records Act 1997 and relevant policies
• Identifying, reporting, and assisting in resolving project risks and issues
• Supporting change, communication, and training activities to drive user adoption
• Building strong relationships to foster collaboration and accountability
