Senior Taxation Officer ASO6 | Port Adelaide, SA

An exciting opportunity is available for a Senior Taxation Accountant to join Shared Services SA within the South Australian Government. This role will support the Taxation Services team during a critical Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) year-end period.

YOU | Bring strong taxation expertise, analytical capability and attention to detail, with the ability to manage high-volume workloads under strict deadlines. You will be confident working both independently and collaboratively, with well-developed communication skills and a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality outcomes. You will also bring:

Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting, taxation or commerce, and/or membership of a professional body (CA, CPA or The Tax Institute) (desirable)
Demonstrated experience in FBT, taxation or financial reporting environments
Strong numerical reasoning and data analysis skills
Intermediate MS Word and Excel skills
High attention to detail with strong data accuracy and integrity focus
Ability to translate complex information into database systems
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines
Experience working within public sector financial frameworks (desirable)
Current National Police Clearance (mandatory)

THE ROLE | This role will provide critical support during the FBT year-end period, contributing to the preparation, review and delivery of Fringe Benefits Tax returns for government agencies. Responsibilities include managing high-volume workloads, resolving complex FBT matters, ensuring compliance with financial frameworks and legislation, and supporting effective client engagement. You will also contribute to maintaining the integrity of financial transactions, undertake data analysis and reporting, and assist with finance-related project work as required.
