ASO5 Financial Accountant | Adelaide, SA

Based in Adelaide CBD, our Government client is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant – Assets to join a key Finance Reform Program. This contract opportunity will support the delivery of accurate financial advice, financial data preparation and accounting services across SA Government agencies.

YOU | Bring your accounting expertise, project experience and strong stakeholder engagement skills to this varied Financial Accountant role. You will support complex finance transformation initiatives while providing high-quality financial advice and services. You will also bring:

• Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent (essential)
• Eligibility for membership with a professional accounting body
• Experience providing financial accounting and financial management services
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial information and provide sound advice
• Experience supporting finance-based projects and working within complex environments
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders
• Ability to work independently, use initiative and manage competing priorities
• Experience preparing financial data files, reconciliations and financial reporting information
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Experience working within government or large-scale organisations will be highly regarded
• Experience supporting system implementation or transformation projects is desirable

THE ROLE | As a Financial Accountant – Assets, you will provide professional accounting and financial management services supporting the Finance Reform Program and broader SA Government agencies.

• Provide accurate and timely financial advice relating to project outcomes
• Support financial data preparation, reconciliations and accounting activities
• Provide financial management advice to stakeholders across government agencies
• Contribute to finance transformation activities, including system and process improvements
• Support the implementation of improved financial processes and practices
• Work collaboratively with internal teams, client agencies and external stakeholders
• Build and maintain strong relationships with finance, business and project teams
• Assist with delivering high-quality financial outcomes within a complex environment
